Overview of Tattoo Release Forms (TRF) App v3.0+

What is TRF?

Developed by professional tattoo artists Conan Lea and Brandon Lea and engineered by world-class developer Klejdi Hoxha, TRF replaces traditional paper waivers with a seamless, paperless workflow. It securely generates, stores, and organizes client waivers as searchable, printable PDFs—perfect for both solo artists and multi-studio chains. TRF App was born from Conan at our Mothership studio, Voluta Tattoo.

Why Choose TRF?

  • Designed by Tattoo Artists, for Tattoo Artists: Built with direct industry insight to meet real-world studio needs by artist Conan Lea, who has tattooed since 1997. Look him up; he's legit.

  • Fully Customizable: Tailor the app to suit individual artists or large studio franchises.

  • Scalable & Flexible: Whether you're a single tattooist or a multi-location franchise, TRF can scale effortlessly to match your business size.

  • Legally Sound & Efficient: Automates client consent forms while ensuring legal compliance and easy record-keeping.

TRF App Flows

TRF is designed for seven user types, each with specific needs. To simplify navigation, the app organizes its interface into flows—sequences of screens that guide users by role. These flows provide necessary access while minimizing the learning curve.

The Nine TRF Flows:

  1. TRF App Initial Setup Flow – Guides studios through initial configuration.

  2. Main Menu Flow – Central navigation for all app functions.

  3. New Client Flow – Handles first-time client waivers.

  4. Tattooing Minors Flow – Handles Minors and their Guardians.

  5. Artist Notes Pane Flow – Allows artists to document client notes.

  6. Save for Later Flow – Lets you save waivers in progress.

  7. Returning Client Flow – Streamlines waiver retrieval for returning clients.

  8. TRF Cloud Folder Flow – Provides secure access to waivers stored in the studio cloud.

  9. Settings Flow – Allows customization and system adjustments.

The Seven Types of Users and TRF Flows:

  1. Tattoo Clients: New Client Flow, Returning Client Flow.

  2. Minor Tattoo Clients: New/Minor Client Flow, Returning Client Flow.

  3. Tattoo Artists: Artist Notes Pane, Returning Client, Save for Later, Main Menu.
