TRF App Settings

Settings: CRF Tab

Learn how to enable and customize permanent makeup (PMU) and cosmetic release forms in TRF app. Manage specialists, services, health history, legal clauses, and blade tracking. Cosmetic Release Forms App, the #1 PMU waiver solution in the App Store for eight years, is now seamlessly woven into TRF app.

Setting up Cosmetic Release Forms (CRF Tab)

Here's how to enable cosmetic settings, customize your specialist lists, and manage PMU health screening, legal clauses, and equipment tracking.

1. Enabling Cosmetic Release Forms

By default, the cosmetic waiver feature is turned off as not all tattoo studios offer PMU services.

  1. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) on the Welcome Screen and select SETTINGS.

  2. Enter your Master Passcode (default is 1234).

  3. Tap the CRF tab in the top navigation bar.

  4. Toggle on Enable Cosmetic Release Forms.

Once enabled, a dedicated NEW CLIENT (COSMETIC) button will automatically appear on your studio’s Welcome Screen inline with your standard tattoo intake button

2. Managing Your Specialists List

If your studio houses dedicated PMU technicians or cosmetic specialists, you can build a dedicated roster that populates specifically on cosmetic waivers.

  1. Inside the CRF tab, tap ADD SPECIALISTS.

  2. Tap the Specialist Name Here text field and type the specialist's full legal name.

  3. Tap the + ADD button.

Removing Specialists: To remove a specialist who no longer works at your shop, tap the red trash can icon next to their name.

Tap DONE to lock in your roster.

3. Customizing the Services List

The TRF app comes pre-loaded with industry-standard cosmetic services divided into four categories: Brows, Lips, Eyes, and Other.

Adding Custom Services: Tap into the category you want (e.g., Lips), type the name of the new service into the Service Name Here field, and tap + ADD.

Removing Services: Tap the red trash can icon next to any service name you want to delete.

Reordering Services: Tap and hold the grabber icon (three horizontal lines) on the left side of any service name, drag it to your preferred position, and drop it.

Restoring Defaults: If your list gets messy or you delete a service by accident, tap Restore default services on the main CRF screen. Confirm the prompt to reset your list to the factory-standard PMU services.

4. Health Questions & Cosmetic History

Cosmetic tattooing requires different medical disclosures than traditional tattooing (such as Botox history or Accutane use).

Current Health Screening: Tap Manage Health Questions to adjust active medical conditions.

Past Procedure History: Tap Manage Questions under the HISTORY section to track prior cosmetic procedures.

In both menus, you can create custom questions using three response formats:

Yes/No: A standard toggle button.

Text: Provides a text field for clients to type out detailed answers.

Date: Prompts the client to select a specific date (e.g., "Last Botox treatment").

Like your services, you can delete any question using the red trash can icon, or reorder questions by dragging the grabber icon.

5. Managing CRF Legal Clauses

Cosmetic procedures require hyper-specific legal protections—such as client acknowledgments that PMU requires multiple sessions, or that pigments will lighten and shift over time. The CRF tab lets you manage a separate set of legal agreements from your standard tattoo waivers.

Tap the menu to manage your cosmetic legal clauses.

To add a new clause, type the exact legal phrasing into the text field and tap + ADD.

Reordering & Deleting: Drag the grabber icon to reorder clauses into your preferred sequence, or tap the red trash can icon to remove a clause you no longer use.

Clients must initial each of these cosmetic clauses individually during intake.

6. Adding Cosmetic Blades & Cartridges

Just like logging standard tattoo needles for health department compliance, you need to track the specific microblades and PMU cartridges used for every cosmetic procedure.

Open the blades management section within the CRF tab.

Type in your specific blade or cartridge configurations (e.g., "14 U-Blade" or "1RL 0.18mm"), then tap + ADD.

Shop-Use Selection: Once added, these configurations populate as quick-select options when your PMU specialist fills out the shop-use section at the bottom of the completed waiver.

Clean up your list anytime by tapping the red trash can icon next to sizes you no longer stock.
