EDITORS tab overview

TRF is designed for customization. Based on your studio's vibe, beliefs, and legal requirements, choose the health questions and legal clauses you present to your clients. Easily document the tools and pigments used in your sessions, which will be recorded on every waiver. Proving compliance with health laws is automatically assured.

Here, studio management can customize lists of the supplies used most often in your studio. After the client finishes, these lists will be presented to the artist in the Artist Notes Pane. The artist can then choose the needles, disposable tubes, grips, pigments, pigment thinners, and salves used in each session. The lists you build here help artists make quick work of adding these items to the waiver, especially if required by law. "What colors did I use in her last session?" is a question of the past.

 • TRF comes preloaded with legal clauses, health questions, needles, disposable grips/tubes, salves, and pigments that are standard to our industry. Some are branded, and some are generic choices. You can turn these on or off at will and even add your own.

 • TRF is friendly with all legitimate brands. We continually court brands to include themselves in our offerings to make your life easier. A rising tide raises all ships.

 • Customize TRF with the following editors: Health Editor, Legal Editor, Pigment and Thinner Editor, Needle Editor, Grips and Tubes Editor, and Salve Editor.

Using TRF Editors

Health Editor

You have total control over the health questions presented to your clients. TRF is preloaded with many health questions, which are shown to your clients by default. This is intended to help you set the app up quickly and get to work.

This editor is configurable in four sections:

1. Health Questions

 • Present Medications input: Enable this feature to ask your clients about their medications. They will be asked to list them.

 • Present Time of Last Meal input: Enable this feature to ask your clients how many hours ago they last had a meal.

2. Allergies

3. Diseases

4. Health Conditions

Allergies, Diseases, and Health Conditions are customizable lists you manage by showing or hiding options to your clients. You can also add your own options.

 • Show options to your clients by tapping the eye icon; gold means they will see it.

 • Hide options from your clients by tapping the eye icon; grey and slashed means they won't see it.

 • Add custom options by tapping +ADD NEW___, typing your option, and tapping DONE.

 • Tap SAVE at the bottom of the screen.

Legal Editor

You have total control over the legal clauses presented to your clients. TRF is preloaded with many legal clauses, which are shown to your clients by default. This is intended to help you set the app up quickly and get to work.

Assembling your legal clauses

Clauses can be quickly added, removed, or edited. The default clauses preloaded in TRF can also be restored in one tap.

Here are a few tips to save time and help format your final PDF waivers.

 • We suggest you assemble all of your clauses in a digital document and number them in the order you choose. Then, access the clause document on your iPad (we love Google Docs). Cut, copy, and paste the clauses into the Legal Clause Editor by switching between apps.

 • Adding these symbols < > around your studio name will place it in the clause.

 • e.g. <MyStudio>

 • Adding and will embolden words in your clauses.

 • e.g. NO WHINING

 • These clauses will back up automatically to your cloud, so they are auto-restored if/when you move into a new iPad. Too easy.

Editing your legal clauses

 • Tap a clause to edit; it will present a text input field—type or CCPaste in your clause. Tap 'Save Changes. '

 • Tap the +ADD NEW CLAUSE. It will present a text input field—type or CCPaste in your clause. Tap 'Save Changes. '

 • Tap RESTORE DEFAULT CLAUSES to restore the clauses that were preloaded in TRF.

 • Tap the red trash can to remove a clause.

Regarding Minors and -18+ clauses

TRF will programmatically swap clauses respective to the birthdate indicated by your clients. Huh?

As your client moves through the New Client Flow, they will provide their birthday, which should match the ID they provide.

 • If they are age 18+, TRF will present the legal clause:

 • "I have truthfully represented to [YourBusinessName] TATTOO STUDIO that I am over eighteen (18)."

 • If they are younger than 18, TRF will present the legal clause:

"I confirm that I am below the age of 18 and that my natural parent or legal guardian is present and will remain present throughout the entire tattoo process. My guardian presents legal proof of guardianship and has the legal authority to sign for liability on my behalf as a minor."

The proper clause regarding age will be presented to your client, and only one.

Pigment and Thinner Editor

TRF gives you control over which pigments and thinners are presented to the artists in your studio.

When artists complete their part of the client waiver in the Artist Notes Pane Flow, they will have a choice of preloaded pigments and thinners to add to the waiver. They can also add custom pigments and thinners. It's an excellent way for an artist to remember the colors they used on a client for subsequent sessions. Also, your local health codes may require it.

As of 2024, it looks like the FDA will soon require it!

Your favorite pigments and thinners may be preloaded in TRF right now. If not, please tell us which pigments and thinners you want preloaded in TRF so we can tell the manufacturers. We are working to bring you the top pigment brands, but reaching agreements with manufacturers may take a while. Meanwhile, you can preload your favorite pigments and thinners in the Pigment & Thinners Editor so the artists in your studio can select them for their waivers.
